Position Details:
Cyber Security SME IV
Will provide objective advice, expertise and specialized skills in, but not limited to, supporting projects related to the individual's subject matter expertise or functional domain. Will prepare and deliver analysis and presentations to colleagues, subordinates, and USPS representatives. Assure the proper use of current or requested engineering, configuring, programming, testing, and documentation techniques. Produce and/or review documentation and reports reflecting knowledge of areas. Will lead special projects or investigations into specific technology or solution issues and to shepherd research and piloting of new technologies. May serve as a point of contact for engineering efforts and has overall responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of solutions and/or services while maintaining compliance with enterprise-wide architecture policies and guidelines.
Duties:
• Work as a recognized authority on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative
• Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results
• Provide security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management as required
• Validate and verify system security requirements definitions and analysis and establishes system security designs as required
• Design, develop, implement and/or integrate IA and security systems and system components including those for networking, computing, and enclave environments to include those with multiple enclaves and with differing data protection/classification requirements as required
• Builds IA into systems deployed to operational environments
Desired Education and Experience:
EXPERIENCE LEVEL:
10+ years of related experience in engineering/cyber discipline.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Management Sciences, Computer Science, Information Systems, Social Science, Education, Human Resources Development, and Psychology or other related disciplines and twelve to fifteen years of experience or Master’s degree and ten to twelve years of related experience or PhD and eight to nine years of related experience.
CERTIFICATIONS: (One or more required)
CompTIA Net- CompTIA A- CompTIA Security - Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)
ISC2 Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Security
Certified Penetration Testing Engineer (CPTE)
Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
Microsoft Certified Solution Expert (MCSE)
Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
Other Relevant Technology Certifications
Additional Provisions:
• Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance
• Pass both a client mandated clearance process to include drug screening, criminal history check and credit check.
• Once candidate’s resume is approved and interview passed, the agency is responsible for providing drug screening. Failure to submit the drug screening results will delay the security clearance process.
• If a candidate is given an interim clearance, continuation of employment is then based on the candidate receiving a sensitive clearance.
• All candidates must be a US Citizen, or have permanent residence status (Green Card).
• Candidate must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.
• Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members.)
• All overtime must be pre-approved in writing by the client manager or his/her designated representative.
• Agency will not be reimbursed for overtime charges without previous written authorization. Authorized overtime will be reimbursed at straight time.
• The enforced dress code is business casual, i.e. collared shirt with slacks for men, no skirts above the knee for women.
- Pay Rate / Range:100.00-130.00
The above salary range represents the range expected for the position; however, final salary offers are based on a number of factors such as the position’s responsibilities; the candidate’s experience, education, and skills; location; travel required; and current market conditions.
